Colin Richard Lloyd is a trombonist, composer, and producer based in Berlin, Germany. He is a graduate of the Schulich School of Music at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he was awarded the Cy & Helene Cooper prize for outstanding academic achievement. As a trombonist, he performs actively in a variety of settings, from jazz big bands to experimental alternative projects. For years he was a core member of the acclaimed Montreal Rhapsody Orchestra, and has performed with them across Canada, the United States, and Europe, most notably with artists like CeeLo Green, Tony Vincent, David Foster, and Gene Simmons. As a composer, he has written a variety of works ranging from compositions for solo piano, as well as orchestral scores. In 2015, his composition for symphonic orchestra, Set Sail, won the Platinum Tier prize at Yamaha’s Keys To The JUNOS competition. He has since gone on to write for short film, video games, and corporate promotions. In late 2017, he was engaged by the YouTube channel Little Angel, a video creator for children’s content. The music he wrote and produced has since been featured on many of the channel’s most successful works, the total viewership on these videos alone surpassing 200 million. In 2020, following the decline of live performances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he refocused his energy on music production. He is currently writing the soundtrack for Achimostawinan Game Studio’s upcoming release Hill Agency, and has composed the theme songs and the produced the audio for several podcasts including Highly Functioning, The Safe Space, and Let’s Talk About Sex.
